Educational Psychology consultations

Educational psychology consultations are meant for schools or parents who are experiencing educational difficulties. A consultation meeting usually takes around 30 minutes for brief consultations, and 60-90 minutes for more complex consultations where participants include several people who are most concerned and motivated to bring about change. Joint work with staff and parents/carers aims to collaboratively explore concerns in a way that helps participants to have a better understanding of the issues. Consultation can be used in the following situations: limited achievements in school, difficulties making friends, concerns around behaviour, experiencing anxiety around exams, to name but a few. Consultations can also be used at an organisational, e.g. planning how to make best use of teaching assistants.
